Storage Advice?

How about storage advice? I see so much conflicting advice from friends/family.

"If you are going to layer them when storing... put a paper towel between each piece so they don't rub up against each other and scratch."

"Don't put a paper towel between each piece because that will just trap and hold moisture to the pans."

"Hang with nothing touching so there is plenty of air flow around the pan(s)."

"Stack upside down... largest on bottom." Why? "I don't know... that is the way grandma always did it!"

hehe

Fill it up with rice, and store it on a dark room, lol

Just make sure the seasoning is dry,put it on the oven at 400 deg a couple hrs, when is cold chose a container, plastic bag, cabinet,to keep it away from dust, moisture, and rodents.oiling before storing will get rancid eventually,

Edgar's sage advice is best for long-term storage, if that's the question you were asking.

If you're asking about regular storage between uses, no need to overthink it. The paper towel thing is out of concern one may chip the seasoning but really as long as you're not being reckless it's not really a problem. Hanging, racked, stacked, they all work. As long as it's had at least an initial seasoning and is otherwise dry you'll be good.
