Does this look funny?

Hello everyone, when I stripped down my fryer to reseason and cook on, I noticed that the CI looked kind of funny to me. It looks more silver than the other CI I have. Is this suppose to be the right color on a stripped piece of CI? Your input is greatly appreciated. Thanks. John

Looks normal. Clean bare cast iron is grey, and not really a dark grey or even black.

Thanks Doug, I'm still a newbie at this stuff and learning everyday. I will try and get the little bit of rust off of it before I season it. Thanks again.

Looks like a 30 minute soak in 50/50 vinegar/water and some steel wool, and you'll be ready to season.
