Default 50ís Strawberry Shortcake 4/1

Had an urge for old fashion strawberry shortcake that was make with Bisquick, not that overly sweet yellow cake mix stuff sold in the grocery store. Didnít want shortcake for 8 and didnít want a whole box of Bisquick. Just shortcake for one.

1/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 pinch of baking soda
1 tsp sugar
1/8 tsp salt
2 tsp melted butter
1 tbsp + 1 tsp milk +?

Preheat oven to 425į F and grease/oil a size 0 CI skillet. Mix dry ingredients, add butter & milk, work to a medium dough & fit into skillet. Bake 10 to 15 minutes until getting golden on top and shrinking from sides of skillet. Let cool, split in half like an English muffin, fill with pre-sweetened strawberries w/juice, or cherries, or ???? and whipped cream. Top with the other half & load.

Enjoy,
Hilditch

The BSR skillet.

Greased lightly with lard the shortcake fell out.

About 1/4 cup of heavy cream + 1 tsp sugar whipped = cherry shortcake.
