A Waffle Iron from Denmark

Found this antique Danish waffle iron made by N.A. Christensen & Co. in the village of Nykobing Mors on the island of Mors, Denmark. The pattern is the traditional 5 heart shape, with very finely cast detailed grid work. Hinge joint works but appears to have been repaired by a blacksmith at some point.
Curious if anyone has more information on this piece or it's history. Mostly I wonder if it was ever imported to the USA for sale, or if it was brought here by an immigrating family.

It was made by a company that is still in operation and is now called "Morso Jemstoberi" that was originally founded in 1853 by Niels Andreas Christensen, a 23 year old man who had worked previously as an accountant at a foundry in Thisted, Denmark.

The currently specialize in cast iron stoves.
