Default My New #3

My job takes me all over Texas, so I found this at a antique shop in a little town in west Texas. I didnít need another # 3 skillet but I liked it. Letís see if am right on this one. First, itís a no notch Lodge #3, the ďSĒ is the mold marker. The little + is the makers mark or signature markings. Let me know if Iím right or I need to hit the books harder and study more. Iím just a weekend warrior who is learning to love CI.

Lodge size numbers are always at 12 o'clock. It's a BSR 3S, slightly smaller than their regular #3, and produced as an economy price item. They also made a 5S and a 7S.

Daniel, I have one also. The difference is that there is a dash between the 3 and the S. It also doesn't have the + at 12 o'clock.

Here's a good link concerning the BSR pots and pans. You'll find it interesting and useful in your collecting ventures.

Daniel...If you should make it to Van Horn on your travels there are a couple antique/shops there that I found several pieces of CI. One in particular had a lot of junk laying around but I found about 3 collectable skillets there. It was late in the day when I stopped so I didn't get to rummage thru everything. It's located off the interstate in the bypass road that goes thru there.
Good luck with your hunting.
