Default Potential Value?

Saw this and remember reading that that score on the bottom is an indication that it could be very old. Fits in decent condition considering having it shipped to me. Any idea of the value say in average 2 good condition? Thanks

Guess it was, someone snatched it up. Looks like I'll have to get those price guide books.

You'll find some eBay sellers think pieces like this are worth nearly $100. Then you'll walk into a flea market and find one for $5 or $10. I can't speak to what values you'll find in the "gray book" which would be about the only recent publication to deal with this type of piece. As old bottom gated, "fancy handle" pieces go, this style is fairly common. I would say you shouldn't feel like you missed out on anything too special; there are plenty more to be found.

Jerry, I have two that I just recently found. They weren't very expensive. One was $20, Excelsior Foundry, and the other was less and looked very similar to yours.
