HSB&Co

Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. was a Chicago hardware firm. Griswold and Vollrath made items for them. Note the Griswold pattern number. Rev-O-Noc is an anagram of Conover, the name of one of the company's upper managers. $45 was cheap (assuming no damage), you should have bought it.

Did you by chance look on the bottom of the low "handled: base to see if it had a 975 number. It may have been marked Griswold....don't know that for a fact.

I just picked up a Standard Gas Equipment Corp. - Waffle Iron - 76 - New York - Dec 1, 1908. The paddles are 976C and 977C. They are also made by Griswold. It doesn't have a base, but it looks like the 975 and 985 bases will work.

The $45 price is an excellent one for that waffle iron.

The rear paddle is non descriptive except for the pat date and 977C.
