Wooden Handles?

How do you clean an item that has a wooden handle in an e-tank. Will the e-tank ruin th wood on these items. Specifically, I have an vintage cherry pitter with a wood crank handle that I would like to clean. Any help or advise appreciated.:mrgreen:

Don't put wood in an e-tank or dishwasher. Hang it so the wood stays above the water surface and clean around the wood by hand.
