We just finished cleaning and seasoning our scalloped bottom dutch oven. The inside of the dutch oven along with the inside of the lid has a thin coating. Not sure what the coating is. We're thinking that this was made by Lodge. Thoughts?
It is Lodge. If it were a coating, it would have to be porcelain or plating. I have seen these enameled inside and out, but in white. I have also seen a clean DO lid on one of these that has that same look as yours does, but always took it to be a casting anomaly.
Thanks Doug. The coating is very smooth. It's definitely not enamel. I wish I taken a close up before seasoning. What would be a ballpark date range for it?
