Turks Head Gem Pan / Gate Marks?

Hello CI experts!

I have an unmarked turks head gem pan that belonged to my grandmother (born 1900), and quite possible her mother before that. I don't know the maker or the age, and I was wondering if anyone could help me identify either. As far as the age, there are "bumps" on the two center "gems" that are not on the other four (see 2nd and 3rd photos). Are these gate marks? If they are, does this prove the pan predates 1900?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

They are gate marks, but it can really only be said for certain that the piece was cast using technology that typically pre-dates 1900. This design is most often seen in the original Lodge #19 gem pan, which is usually side gated and has a raised number 19 on one handle. It's possible this pan is a copy made using a Lodge #19 either as a pattern or as the basis for a pattern, and the maker used the simpler but more or less obsolete bottom gating technology.
