Slant Griswold Erie #8

I picked this up last night. I've seen a few without "8" on the top of the handle. This one has it. Just a different mold? Is one older than the other? Is one more collectible? Thanks for any info.

I don't know the answer to your question, but my 7, 8, and 10 do not. Also, the 8 and 10 have quotations around ERIE, but the 7 does not.

No quotes on mine.

My #8 has the 8 on the handle but not in the block style and a different handle. As far as the quotes on the Erie is hard to tell cause of sulfur pitting.
