Another old find... (footed w/o markings)

I picked it up at an estate sale near Bedford, PA. The skillet's surface is in fantastic shape compared to my other footed one. The top is rather rough, and probably went to one of the rusted out bean pots that were at the home. $55 ... being new to cast iron, I'm not sure what pieces like this go for.

looks like a pan that was used in colonial america. I have seen these on a site that helps re-enactors use the proper tools ,jas.Townsend and son, inc. Hope I did not hinder the effort. Larry.

How tight is the fit from the lid to the pan? It is an early spider. Most shallow spider skillets had no lids. Deeper ones had rimmed lids. Is the patina different between the lid and the skillet? You got a good deal, especially with a lid.
