I had to run to the bank on my lunch break today and couldn't resist a quick stop at a yard sale. I found a #10 A B & I with a Lodge Lid for 20$. It's a really heavy skillet and probably not a keeper for me but maybe RustyP needs one to match his #14???

I pulled this out of the lye bath this morning and started scrubbing. It's a #12, the lodge #10 lid fits it well so I guess their sizes run smaller at ABI.

I'm dying to know though... What does the bottom look like?

Here is a picture of the bottom of the AB & I skillet. It's pretty unremarkable. There is nothing on the bottom.

I like the machined bottom - it's a lot easier to oil than rough raw castings.

Is that a heat ring I see, or is it just dark around the edge?

No heat ring Rusty. It didn't spend a lot of time in the lye. It's a big pan so it takes up a lot of space in there.
