What is This Inner Grate?

Looks like some kind of broiler grate. Not sure it was actually designed as a skillet insert. Might be a top to a hibachi. Is it cast iron (both parts)?

Dereck....Think your insert is a modern day piece similar to the one I have on an old CI patio type grill. I found the piece I have at Goodwill years ago but it was the right size to fit over the top of the grill. My piece has a maker's name in the middle of it and was made in Hong Kong.
Anyway....Here's a pic mine.

Very similar to my "Indoor Smokeless Stovetop Grill" - put water in the cavity of the bottom piece (where the pickle fork is in the picture), and fat from the meat falls into the water and doesn't smoke. The stainless steel base is a bit over 12" in diameter, and the aluminum top is not quite 10".
