Found this at our local flea market today. Haven't cleaned it up but it should look great after my magic touch has been applied.
Couldn't find much data on it (S M CO , Pitts Pa) other than an old listing on Worthpoint. Our CIC foundry data base has it listed and only says they made skillets and pots.
Was just wondering if anyone has a time line on any of their production period.
The gate mark tells me pre-1900 so I'm assuming sometime in the late 1800's.

Very interesting piece. I love the handle design. It is hopefully a design that keeps the handle cool.

Unfortunately, I don't know anything about the piece.
 
There's info but its not here. As you can see you can't take that Foundry List/Database as complete gospel. Standard Manufacturing started around the end of the 1800's. They steered to Tubs and other like items (more profitable) and left Hollow Ware behind. Hang onto that marked piece. Not many found. I have a SM & Co with a different style handle.
