scrap yard find.. Help me identify :)

Good evening everyone,
Hauled a load of pop cans in today to the local scrap yard and saw a handle sticking out of a pile. This is what I found. Could use some help figuring out what it is. I've seen them with legs many years ago but not lately.

That is a spider I believe. #4 size. The gate mark on the bottom means it's likely pre 1890, if I am remembering correctly, and it may be impossible to determine who made it. There were tons of small foundries at that time.
