Hi!
I've been to this site several times. Found great information every time! My husband and I love anything old. Recently we came across a huge cast iron pot with two gate marks on it, hopefully when it's cleaned I'll be able to find a name, and something I'd never seen....an old cast iron tile cutter....interesting piece. Anyway, I'm glad to be here among all of you!

Hey Karen,

Welcome to the site.

Gate marked pieces a lot of the time don't have maker's marks. Even if your piece (when you get it cleaned up) doesn't have a mark, post a photo on the Show & Tell board so we can see it. With luck, someone here will have some information for you.

Hi Karen.....what part of Alabama...my mother is in Anniston...I am way down here in the Sunshine State...in Panama City

Welcome to this great site.

Two gate marks were used on some larger cast vessels. Could be early to mid 1800s

We like eye candy, photos please.
