Default Do Southern Mystery Skillets Ever Have Gate Marks?

Hard to see under the crud, but the handle does have the triangular raised pad. How common is it for these to have gate marks?

The question is, however, did the original maker(s) use bottom gating (early on, one would have to assume), or are the bottom-gated examples copies/recasts?
