Early Red Mountain #8

Picked up a pan at a flea market yesterday for four dollars. I was pretty sure it was a BSR Red Mountain, and after the first day in a lye tank I think it's pretty clear it's a hand scribed early one. At least that's what it looks like to me!

It's back in the lye tank soaking away. The pan seems very flat and in good shape (other than the accumulated crud). Looking forward to getting it cleaned up and giving it a try!

Your assumption is correct. I have several of them that were hand scribed and they all have cleaned up nicely and have a wonderful cooking surface. The lids for it were also hand scribed for that particular era.
