Picked up these two recently

The ones with bail I have found have been rather pricey. I got a very good deal on these. Both for ten pounds of my honey.
 
I'm certainly no expert, but I believe the ears on that put it conservatively into the late 19th century... I suspect older than that. I sure hope it doesn't become a planter! See pages 25 & 26 of Early American Cast Iron Holloware by John Tyler.

(referring to the 2nd one... can't see the 1st one well enough, but that one also looks to be 19th C to my limited knowledge.
 
They will not go the planter route. Thank you for the heads up on reference.
