Default Old Griswold Ads

I just discovered Google Newspapers, where they have scanned in and made searchable old newspapers. Very cool. This is the search term for Griswold Cast Iron:

griswold cast iron site:news.google.com/newspapers (or, you can just use this link)

Here is a 1919 ad for Griswold

Of course, you can change the search for whatever you're interested in:

Wagner cast iron

Kind of fun to play with.

Under this pic are 6 Griswold waffle irons, 1880's to 1930. Top left ad in Ladies Home Journal is October 1924.

I posted that I's found the Google books ads a while back and posted clippings on my Flickr account HERE.

Doug replied that he's also got a bunch of them HERE.

I had seen Doug's page on this site, but not your post. Thanks.

Thanks Dan, for sharing this interesting info. I hadn't thought of the Google project including newspapers, but I should have. If you can get through the intricacies of the search terms, I bet there is a lot to be discovered about the history of US CI in the many ads.

Yes, and it isn't just ads. Newspaper stories turn up with that method as well.

Example: Vollrath Co. Dedicates It's New Foundry and they "... Keep Growing At A Steady Pace"
