Default Lodge Tall Boy Tripod

I was thinking of asking for this for fathers day.

If you own one, how do you use it?

thanks,
Dean

Just like the description says, you hang a Camp Oven over the fire with it. Or a regular dutch oven.

I should have clarified a little bit. What do you fellow forum members cook over the fire using a tripod. Soups, boil corn, ......?

thanks,
Dean

I've tried to use one my in-laws have a couple of times. I didn't like it. Too difficult to get the temperature right, and too easy to spill stuff. I prefer to put a grill grate over the fire and put my CI on that or I'll use a camp DO with a metal hog pan and charcoal.

I haven't used one of those,I think Is not easy to lift the lid while the pot is hanging, and probably you will spill every time you remove the lid.

I have one and no longer use it. I found it difficult to regulate the temperature and to remove the cover. I use a camp type with legs that I place on coals and another I use on a grate. These are much easier to use.
