Enameled skillet restoration?

Hi to all. As this is my first post I'll make it brief and sans photographs. Will figure out the process of attaching them soon!
I searched around the site (perhaps not very well?) but could find no information or suggestions on restoration of enameled cast iron, if there is anything that can even be feasibly done at all. Most of my cast iron is not enameled, but I have a Griswold skillet (you know, the red and ivory ones) that someone let get too hot apparently because the enamel on the cooking surface is cracked up. Sooo, polling for opinions. Use as-is, try and remove the enamel from the cooking surface and season the surface, hang it on the wall as a decoration... looks good from the underside :)

Thanks
Dave M.

The measures required to restore damaged enamel, as with damaged or worn nickel or chrome plating, are typically beyond the capabilities of the average collector, not to mention prohibitively expensive to consider having done professionally.
