Hi All, I look forward to learning about cast iron cookware. I am in the process of reconditioning my daughters rusty Lodge Grill Pan. It's soaking in a vinegar/water bath and the progress after day three is amazing.
Hopefully, that's not soaking for an entire three days straight. The process is normally soaking for 30 minutes at a time followed by scrubbing and rinsing, then repeating as necessary. Leaving it in long term can actually erode good metal.
Thanks for the heads up. I must have watched the wrong youtube video were someone soaked skillets for three days.
Yes three days straight and just this morning the last remnants of rust came off.
