Will Griswold Skillet Self Basting Cover Lids Fit Wapak Skillets?

I have not seen Wapak skillet cover lids. Not even sure they exist. I have Wapak skillets which I love but would like to get some skillets lids for them. I see various sizes on ebay but hesitate buying because I am not sure a #7 Griswold lid will fit a Wapak #7 skillet etc.

The answer is maybe. But probably not well enough to spend the money on a Griswold lid. Wapak was notorious for using others' pans as patterns or the basis of patterns. That means that, unlike an original pattern, which is made larger to account for iron shrinkage as it cools, Wapak's resulting copies will be smaller in diameter than the Griswold or other pan used as a pattern.

I have a lot of Wapaks myself. If you only need a lid, I would suggest GW, for glass lids, as they are really cheap and easy to find the size you need. If you want a CI lid, then I am of NO help..........
