Which Griswold D.O. Goes with This #9 Lid?

I just pulled this out of the etank and was pleased to see the numbers on the lid.

I was surprised that it didn't have a Griswold logo (slant) on the lid. Could someone let me know which Griswold DO goes with this lid? Is it earlier than the slant logo?

By the time they were using pattern numbers, you would expect it to at least say "ERIE".

Here's an early slant logo lid, pre-basting rings.

Thank you, Doug. I agree.

The top of the lid is identical to the one you included. There is nothing I see that would indicate that it is recast, as it is in rather decent condition ( save for some pitting from rust).

There is nothing to indicate that a logo has been buttered over, as well.

Any indication of an ERIE ghost about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way up from 6 o'clock? The placement of the p/n would tend to indicate there was never a logo at center.

Your lid is for an ERIE dutch oven like pictured here.

Their are two different styles of ERIE ovens. The earliest has more of a squared off corner where the sidewall meets the bottom and came with a flat lid. The later is more rounded where the sidewall and bottom meet (pictured above) and came with slightly domed lid like yours.
Both styles are shown in the Blue Book.
