Confused - 3 Notch Lodges Have Different Handles?

Good Morning! Being new to the 'sport", I am trying to catalog my pans with pictures and descriptions to help me learn and remember what I have. I have this strange need to know as much about each pan as I can for my own personal knowledge. I am not a collector, I just like to be intimate with my cookware! I told you....weird. Anyway, I learned that the unmarked 3 notches are Lodges but I am confused about the different handles. For example, the #5 on the left has a smooth (no ridge) handle all the way back to the pan. The #6 on the right, seems to flatten out in a small triangle shape where the handle meets the pan. And there are no markings on that triangle piece. Is there some significance to this difference? Does this date it differently? Sorry for the condition of the pans.....like I said I am a user and some are just recently cleaned/restored!

Lodge patterns over the years were all over the place design-wise, the most consistent characteristic being the notched heat ring. And even that is not true of all Lodge skillets. The other characteristics which do give an indication as to time period of manufacture can be found at:

Thank you. I did read that but did not see anything referencing different handle styles so I thought I'd ask. Thank you for the reply
