Do you guys have trouble with the heat from the coals killing your seasoning? My grill tends to rust after use...about to reseason and would love to hear some input...thanks in advance!

The outside portion where the majority of the heat would be dissapated. I've tried a light coating of oil before cooking to see if it would season while cooking. I live in south Alabama, and the grill stays outside and its usually dark outside when I'm cooking. I generally cook and let the coals die out overnight, which may be the source of my problem. I love the grill and will use it forever, just having a tough time keeping it black...

My old CHAR-BACHI hibachi does the same thing, I think it is caused by the prolonged heat until the coals die out. I just make sure it doesn't get active rust. Cast iron hibachis can't be beat for grilling, and will hold a lot more food at a time that you'd think by looking at them.
