I found this in a family members barn and it was handed down to me to bring it back to life, so I did, and am very excited to have it in my collection. :p

Great restoration! What is the #12 long handle pot that's in the first pic? I thought it might be a spider, but I don't see legs.

I wish, I think it is some kind of reproduction but don’t know, looks like legs were removed and has a weird gate mark. I’m a sucker for free. Good eye

I just read the gate mark and remnants of legs on my last pics of camp oven may be a very early and desirable piece, any thoughts on this ?

you are entering into a whole new realm of cast iron collecting... the bottom gate-marked stuff. There is a facebook group that Steve Stephens started called something like: bottom gate marked cast iron cookware. lots of knowledgeable people in that group. But, yes, yours looks like an early 'spider' or 'hearth skillet'... some of these were made with legs (3-4 inches long) to allow it sit above coals in a hearth... and some seem to have been cast with 'feet' (just nubs less than 1/2 inch or so to allow it to sit flat over the gate mark.) Both of these are generally older than the normal sort of stuff people collect... griswold and wagner etc... but that doesn't really translate into 'more valuable'... it's a pretty small group of people who like the really early pieces... especially the ones that are a bit more crude than some of the later gate marked 'fancy handle' pans.
