I ran across this while I was looking for RickC's Martha White cornbread skillet.
I finally found a useful purpose for pitted skillets. The runners up in this photo seem a little upset that they don't have a cast iron hat.

It's a plastic hard hat, painted black, with a skillet with a big hole cut out fitted over it.
