Cast Iron Find This Weekend

Hi all. I'm new to the group and bought a CI skillet this weekend. It's my first, I believe nickel plated skillet. After doing some research, I believe it to be a late 1800's ERIE skillet. It looks to be in pretty good condition. I plan on actually using it.

Does anyone know what the flower looking mark is?

There is a small bit of rust on section of it, what would be the best way to clean it up?

After cleaning it up would I re-season the inside and outside as a normal cast iron skillet?

The flower is a maker's mark, the pattern maker's way to identify himself.

Plating was intended to give an upscale air and remove the need to pre-season. Obviously, cooking would build seasoning unless the pan was scrubbed absolutely clean after use. Those restoring pieces with worn plating usually manually season the bare iron areas at least so as to prevent rust forming again.
