Ober Sad Iron, Size 1.... 1895 Patent

I thought share worthy....

I found this at a local Thrift store .... too cool to pass up ($5.00). Raised
foundry imprint indicates... G.H.Ober , Patd', May 28 95', Size 1, Chagrin
Falls OH
. . I have included (below) the patent for the appropriate handle ...
and, a completed Ebay listing for this sad iron with handle. As tracking the
appropriate handle would require profound luck I will display as is. I really
appreciate the foundry detail work.... even the small up slope on the leading
edge. I would assume this close to five lbs. .... any smaller size would probably
fall in to the "toy" category.

Thanks Spurgeon... sure do wonder how this journeyed from
the midwest to the desert southwest... great history I'm sure.
It is indeed a "solid" chunk of cast iron ! :cool:
