Issue with rust color after self cleaning

I have been doing the same process cleaning my items , but after self cleaning and clean with water , then I use electric wires wheel to get it ready , but after cleaning with water again it turn rusty color ,

Can I start seasoning with the rust color or do I need to do something different before seasoning
Please advise

How can I get the rust stains i.e. Color out i.e. Stop
From coming back after watching the bail and lid under water for a while,it is to be concern before seasoning start

It's called flash rust, and is not unusual. It will wipe off when you wipe off the excess oil. Many of the issues you will encounter during restoration and seasoning are covered on these pages:

Using a wire wheel to clean vintage cast iron is not recommended unless you are certain it and your technique will not change the surface texture of the iron.

Before I got here, we looked at many videos , the process we do is
1- self cleaning oven
2- clean with soap and water and 000 steel wool
3-dry them
4-seasoning process, every hr we take them out apply the cristco and wife off and back on the oven for 1 hr (repeat the process 5 times)
5- for the most part they look great , except one piece we have (lodge) that seen like is not taking the seasoning process well, or may be it is and I am not giving time, but if we cook on it , the bottom and the sides for about 1 in up looks like no seasoning at all and the top look bronze or yellowish , not sure what is going on

I will read this and make changes to our process to do the best we can
