Re: What is This ??

That's pretty cool. My guess was going to be a mailbox. But I officially withdraw that guess.

Wagner Ware Error?

I have 2 Wagner 3s. After close inspection, it looks like one is 1053 and the other is 1063. Is this possible? Is the 1063 altered? Is this a normal anomaly?
Thanks for looking.

Re: Help Identifying These BSRs

Thanks. That's what I was leaning towards, but the 7 by itself, with no letter next to it threw me off.

Re: Indoor Lye Tank?

I have mine in the basement laundry room next to the laundry sink. I've had it there for 2-3 years. The only odor is minor when the lid is open. When the lid is on, absolutely no smell.

Unmarked Le Creuset?

Did Le Creuset put out unmarked pans? I have a square griddle that looks very similar to a marked one. The rounded helper handle and the deep groove in the top of the handle is what caught my eye. ...

Re: Cousances from a Thrift Store

Sandra, you may want to get a little mineral oil (butcher block oil) on the wood handles. That will help prevent them from drying out as well as help them repel water.

Re: What is This?

Used for cleaning popcorn machines. Sounds like the same as Carbon Kleen. It doesn’t really “lift” the carbon off, more like softens it just enough to be scraped off. I was a little more aggressive...

Re: What is This?

Thanks MD. I am an experience "careful" scraper and have had excellent success in the past, but not so much with this one.

I am now trying the Dawn soap on the burner. Crossing my fingers.

Re: What is This?

Thanks Doug. When I eventually give up and start seasoning, with this blend in? Will seasoning even stick to this patch?

What is This?

I’ve had this sitting in a lye tank for 10 days or so. Every 2-3 days I pull it out and scrub it by hand with a wire brush. Not much improvement each time.

Just keep letting it soak in lye?

Ever Heard of Komin Oval Fry Pan?

Komin Oval Fry Pan - Made in Japan. Felt like cast iron, handle looked like steel.

Has anyone ever heard of it? My internet searches so far have come up empty.

Re: Need Help IDing This ECI

Thanks SeanD. I was thinking Descoware as well. No "Descoware Made in Belgium" puts this pan pre-1960? Combined with an original color of Citron (yellow), does it put it in the mid 50's? Probably...

Need Help IDing This ECI

Just picked up this little ECI.
The “15” suggests centimeters, which suggests European, which suggests...France?

All thoughts welcomed.

Re: Help Identifying This DO

Here it is after seasoning. It turned a little “copper” in color, but I think it turned out pretty good. Doesn’t appear to be scaly.

Thanks Doug. I didn’t see any markings on the bottom either.
I’ve never dealt with a heat damaged pan. What are the consequences? Will it season up as normal? Is it still usable? Is it more...
