Re: Help Identifying Camp Stove

Doh! My eyes were reading Lodge/Wagner but of course my brain was thinking Griswold/Wagner. :D

What could the buttering imply? Since I can't find any marks on the lid at all, and the casting...

Re: Help Identifying Camp Stove

Thanks Jeff! Appreciate the answer.

Just got the basting lid cleaned up and re-seasoned last night. Now that it's clean I can see 'butter' marks where they took out the center rows of basting...

Re: Griswold SBL 12

Congrats on the nice find! The only 10's and 12's I've seen out in the wild so far are modern Lodge's. I know the others are out there, they're just hiding from me.

Looking forward to your...

Re: Lodge 9 DO - My First Dutch Oven

Wish the forums here had the ability to thumb up/like posts. That would definitely earn one! :)

Re: Help Identifying Camp Stove

Thanks Doug. I'd mentioned that a Worthpoint entry listed the basting lid as Lodge. Is that possible? Have you seen that sort of pattern before?

As far as the camp stove goes - any idea/hints...

Re: Help Identifying Camp Stove

Thanks MD! Appreciate the info.

Before the sun went down I paid a visit to the lye tank, just to see how things are going. On the bottom of the pot I think I can see two very, very faint...

Re: Lodge 9 DO - My First Dutch Oven

Thanks Kyle! Appreciate the confirmation of what I'd been able to dig up. Good to know a bit of the pot's history. :)

I made a pot roast in it today. Potatoes, Parsnips, Carrots, and Sweet...

Re: Help Identifying Camp Stove

No, I didn't find anything useful in the unmarked section. There's not much there about camp stoves/identification, and the entries for basting didn't talk about this pattern.

I did find via...

Help Identifying Camp Stove

Hi all, found an unmarked camp stove today (camp oven?). Picked it up, with a second lid, for twelve dollars. I could use some help identifying it.

Re: Lodge 9 DO - My First Dutch Oven

A few other things I've noted:

There's a maker's mark under one of the bail ears (as well as some more gunk that I missed):

Picked up my first dutch oven this weekend at a flea market. It was unmarked, but just ten dollars, so I couldn't leave it behind.

Re: One Month Ago...

That is a pretty lid. Your stuff is shined up very nicely. :)

And that lid is rather well marked, isn't it. Can't miss that marking. Lol.

Thanks guys. Yep, the bug definitely bit!

On that Vollrath, nope, it doesn't seem to be particularly deep, but it sure looks like it is. Sitting side by side with the BSR #8 they're both the...

And finally...an Aebelskiver pan.

It's a Wagner 1314 A with the two-part handle (identified via this thread: http://www.griswoldandwagner.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1136144435). I picked it...

One Month Ago...

About a month ago I didn't own any cast iron. Well, we had one modern Lodge skillet in with our camping gear. But we rarely if ever used it.

Then I discovered some Griswold pans at a flea...

It's a smooth bottom, no marks that I could see. Small number on...
