Re: Three Notch with No Markings
Do you think it's safe metal to eat out of? If so what is your hunch or knowledge on age? Debating on gifting it, even though it's not worth much. Might resurface the cooking surface for them first.

Re: Came Across One a Bit Different
D_Madden, just looking at past posts. Thanks for the info on the #7. It's still my favorite to use. I've compared with a lot of others and it seems to heat up way faster than anything else. Plus I...

Re: Three Notch with No Markings
It may, it's much lighter in color than anything else I've etanked. Looks almost like aluminum. Would chrome mean anything?

Re: Three Notch with No Markings
Yes Doug, saw the same thing as far as the handle. When I flipped it over top up the handle looks almost like a BSR. Wow... Didn't know, interesting. Might just throw it in the trash lol. Barely paid...

Re: Came Across One a Bit Different
My favorite for a lot of small jobs. Super thin and smooth. Another SMS I guess. Plus I like using something that I know is old. Just sold a beautiful 9 Griz. I like old

Re: Came Across One a Bit Different
Very cool thanks. I like seeing rough castings and the primitive grinding methods used back then. You know you're holding a more handmade piece. What would be an average price say on ebay for the...

Came Across One a Bit Different
I've seen the hammered look and always liked it. Found this for a good price. Anyone recognize the handle or anything? Wondering possible time period, maker, and potential value. Thank you

Re: Recent Finds
Wow, nice Chuck! That raised #5 on the handle skillet looks like one I picked up not long ago. What's the bottom look like?

Re: Today's Load
See that blemish on the right side of the top of the lid? It's a casting mark and there is a dimple and some Pockets around that as well from the casting. Should I try to eliminate the blemish by...

Re: Today's Load
Yes, I believe it is a no notch lodge. I've seen some like this that have the lodge logo across the top. I read that Lodge was in the process of merging or buying an existing foundery in their...

Re: Unknown Skillet
Got this going on now. Unbelievable ease without disturbing the original casting. This was a test run before taking it to the next level. Very happy.

Re: Unknown Skillet
WOW, I saw that but it said outside heat ring. Man, that's old. The roughness of the manufacturing I thought shows that as well. Are there many around?

Re: Unknown Skillet
Going from left to right, very unevenly ground edges and rough spot in casting. Each side of handle is the same.
