Re: Need Help with Identification
Hi - welcome to the forum, you should post pics that include the entire skillet and complete handle, both top and bottom, for best results in IDing.
But from what I can see it's most likely BSR.

Re: Spider Skillet? Camp Oven Skillet?
I was also initially suspecting BSR not just from the lid but from the handle shape but it's not BSR. I have a BSR 12" spider skillet to compare to. The feet are different, rounded pegs on the BSR...

Re: A Mess when Cooking
Assuming we're not preheating in an oven, just on a stovetop, the reason I do not add butter/oil while the pan is still cold is I'm concerned with the timing, that the oil will overheat before the...

Re: Lead in Cast Iron
The reason for a lead test is the off-chance that someone used a piece of CI to melt lead for casting into bullets or sinkers or whatever, and that left a lead residue. Maybe someone else knows...

Re: Tiny Spider Skillet
I shared your pics with the owner of the skillet in question and he thinks you nailed it with the Virginia Metalcrafters ID.
I'm passing along his thanks as well as repeating mine. Have a good...

Thank you, I think your ID of the makers mark might be right.
May I have your permission to repost your pics?

Tiny Spider Skillet
Hello everybody -
Once again I'm trying to help an acquaintance with an ID and have come up short, would appreciate the input from Doug and the community here.
This is a tiny spider skillet,...

Re: Camp Skillet ID
I have a BSR spider skillet and yours has a number of differences; yours is not BSR.
If I were you I'd go with Doug's answer.

Re: Hammered Chrome Lodge - Cleaning?
Wow, that's nice.
By my understanding, plated pieces where the plating has worn through in places are worth about the same as similar unplated pieces.
But pieces where the plating is still...

ID Help - Popover Pan
Hello - I'm trying to help a friend again and would like confirmation or correction on my ID; I'm not strong on these.
Is this an unmarked Wagner popover pan made using a Griswold pattern?
It...

Re: Braised Short Ribs
I realize I'm replying to a post from last February, but the quoted link to a thread from 2016, that 2016 thread was my thread.
Yes, though I got away with using the wine that time, in general I...

Re: Skillet Identification
Both of your #7s and your first #5, the one with the A N, appear to be from prior to the switch to DISA automation, which happened in '66 - '68. I can't tell from the ears if they're pre-'50s but I...

Re: Skillet Identification
As of this writing, you've only linked pics of two skillets.
You're right on the #6.
The first #7 does look BSR prior to the mid-'60s but hard to say more than that. There's posting guidelines...

Without Griswold markings that would be my best guess but only because of the info Doug provided previously; he would know better than I.

Re: Today's Finds
The other month I posted a popover pan just like that, trying to help a friend ID it. I was guessing Griswold but the answer I got from Doug was a Wagner using an old Griswold pattern.

Re: Aebleskiver Vs. Egg Poacher
Yes, agreed - I've seen modern egg poachers use shallow bowls to hold the eggs (I've never tried them, only ever poached in a regular saucepan) but it seems to me that trying to use CI for such a...
