Was up at my hunting camp this weekend and there was a new skillet in the kitchen. The weight of it reminded me of a BSR, but I didn't see any markings I usually associate with them. The numbering...

Re: Chrome Griswold #4

I think the issue with plated pieces is they are rarely fully plated anymore. If they are mint with no plating issues, they are more collectable and expensive. If they have plating issues, they are...

Re: Excess Metal Inside Handle Loop

I have done this. It usually turns out nice. I will say even after the piece is completely cleaned the area I got with a Dremel is always lighter in color and is a little noticeable after being...

Re: It's Finally Happened

I usually cook everything in cast iron as well. But I do have small teflon skillet I usually cook my eggs in. While it can be done in my CI, teflon is too easy.

Re: Should I Be Worried About Lead?

Did you just start looking at the Reddit Cast Iron forums this week? I swear every before / after post someone in thread chimes in saying " I hope you tested for lead".

I'm honestly not sure...

Re: Cooking with Fire Ring CI

I have a smooth top electric range as well. I cook with skillets that have a heat ring and those without as well. I haven't noticed any difference in cooking performance. Although I do prefer a...

Re: Need to Dump Lye Tank

It's in my basement and in a container that the liquid mostly fills. The lid won't keep the liquid in if it sloshes around. Carrying up a set of stairs and over carpet isn't an option for me. I...

Re: Help with a Griswold

This is a neat skillet, my favorite series of the Griswolds.

My first or second post to these forums was about a #12 of this series I found at a yard sale. I've always wanted to collect all of...
