Probably it has too much carbon buildup and some times the notches arenít visible,if you think it is lodge clean the fire ring and you may find the other notch

Just be careful when you clean inside of it,I bought one las weekend new condition and it is enameled inside,check yours, will look good on top of wood stove I have.

I think it is aluminum,lye will dissolve it,if is not aluminum it is copper,I seen a copper pot exactly like your today at flea market,I have no idea age or maker

I have some skillets with same damage,some inside and some outside,and I had the same issue with seasoning,Iím completely agree with D,that skillet was left on a pile, Probably outside on the rain.

Just make sure the seasoning is dry,put it on the oven at 400 deg a couple hrs,when is cold chose a container,plastic bag,cabinet,to keep it...

I found a Wagner skillet last week it has some Crome on the handle and out side on the wall,I left it on my e tank for 3 days to see if the Crome comes out and only on those spots where was rusted...
