Re: Erie #7 Bean Pot
Doug, I see this discussion a lot. While it is true that the Griswold family owned the factory and the ERIE pieces were made in the same factory as the Griswold marked ones, I still see it as being...

Lodge Wildlife Series DOG Skillet
Just finished restoring this Lodge Setter Dog skillet. It's from their 1990s Wildlife Series. I'm usually not that interested in newer pieces, but I understand that this is a very hard piece to find....

Re: Hammered Griswold Vs Hammered Lodge
I've always wondered about the handles being nearly identical myself. Did one just copy the other, or is it possible it was some sort of joint effort between the 2 companies??

Big Pile with a Hammered Single-notch Lodge
I bought a nice pile of skillets yesterday. There are a few nice pieces in there, including my first hammered, single-notch Lodge. It's a chrome #5, with a few worn areas on the cooking surface. Also...

Re: WAPAK #12, (2) WAGNER #11s. Recent Finds
Doug, I felt it was a possibility when I was buying this skillet. Closer inspection, tilting at every possible angle, it still doesn't appear to be. Something looks a little different in that area,...

WAPAK #12, (2) WAGNER #11s. Recent Finds
Picked up a few good pieces the other day. Except for the #4 Griswold, the other 3 were a first for me.

Re: How Many Rounds of Seasoning
You really only need 1 layer to provide protection from rusting. You will add seasoning with use. I do 2 or sometimes 3 layers to darken them a little more. that is strictly for cosmetics to resell.

Re: Griswold Questions
First off, welcome to the site Stephen. In my opinion, Slant logo skillets without heat ring are MUCH harder to find that with heat ring. You hardly ever see any come up for sale compared to their...

Wagner Hotel Waffle Iron, Griswold #11, Victor 723
I picked up this little stack of cast iron yesterday, including a couple of nice pieces. The Wagner twin waffle iron is my first. I have had the Griswold hotel waffle iron though. My favorite piece...

Re: Electrolysis Tank - Newbie!
K_Leonard, check Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist. There are often old, manual chargers for sale on there for reasonable prices.

Re: Biggest Haul Yet - Lots of Work Ahead
Nice haul. Sometimes it happens that way. In the front stack of skillets, it looks like the 2nd and 3rd from the bottom might be fancy handled, bottom gate marked??

For several years, I used nothing but electrolysis, since it cleans everything. The past 2 years I've started to use a lye tank first. It allows me to stack multiple pieces in the lye tank for...

Re: Unusual Cast Iron Frog
It's a boot jack. Anchored to the floor and you hook the heel of your boot in the antenna and pull your boot off. I've had several of these. Use one now as a door stop in my shed, lol.

Re: Some Pics from the Dinkys Auction This Weekend
That 3 lip #9 is amazing. Has to be one of the rarest pieces out there. Although I'm not a big fan of chrome or nickel plated pieces, that #2 is stunning. I see posts about this auction house all the...
