I found mine in the wild - flea market near Chattanooga TN long ago. The only thing that came to mind after cleaning it was that it had been "shoe-blacked," as the chrome wasn't visible.

Remember the trick of heating before any seasoning, to get it to darken. "What you may wish to do instead is, prior to applying any seasoning, heat the pan gradually to 450-500*F for an hour or so....

My rationale for collecting is using. Had an old Granny Smith apple. Cooked in just butter, sprinkling on brown sugar after removing from the hot pot. Very good! Used the diffuser on a gas stove...

I inquired via Facebook. Lodge replied that they haven't released the new Legacy item yet - stay tuned, so there must be one. Saw 2018's item 1/24/18, so should be coming soon.

i have a Le Creuset that is at least 40 years old. All enameled Le Creuset are made in France. I'd be leery of a China-made one.

My rationale for buying has been that I will use it. I just counted up – 23 skillets, 3 griddles, 13 cornstick/muffin/gem pans, 7 Dutch ovens/roasters. Several random. But I have used all of them...
