If the warp causing the spin is big enough it can cause liquids to pool/flow unevenly creating issues during cooking.

The handle is a two piece bent together in the middle, it runs the same way as the gatemark so the tabs would not be a part of it.

I will look closer in the morning as it is in the oven on its last round of seasoning. I will try to get a few better detailed pics of the handle bonding areas.:-D

I would think it is Carbon Steel cookware, often times there will be small makers or country of origin marks on the handle somewhere.

above the big 6 is an "s" and above that is UA TH additionally to left of the "U" is a "6". The bottom is actually an "F or E" next to the 1.

I know many makers used multiple marks to separate molds, patterns, shifts ect.. However this is the most markings I have seen in one spot on one pan, can anyone help me understand what they mean?

those were my thoughts as well. I believe that the molecular changes would create areas on the pieces that would not heat properly making it difficult to cook with depending on location.

Handle Marking

I am having trouble figuring out why this #3 1 notch lodge has a #1 on the top side of the handle? Is it a gang mark from a multi pour or possibly an inspectors mark ? I do not have any other #3 1...
