Re: Tiny Hammered Skillet

Thanks Doug D. I read it again and still missed it. 1940's to 1960's would be a good date range?

Tiny Hammered Skillet

I just recently bought this little skillet. I have seen many on eBay, but none of them that I've seen lists a manufacturer. If anyone knows, please chime in. Also, age of skillet. Thanks....

Re: Hello from Beautiful N. Idaho

Hello Gary. You should not have to use electric tools for cast iron, definitely not vintage pieces. It removes the collectable value of the pieces.

I look forward to seeing pictures.

Re: Cousances from a Thrift Store

Very nice. I haven't seen the ones with a black interior. All of mine have the white/beige interior.

As stated before, just wash with soapy water. I noticed in the handle of the big pot you have...

Re: BSR #8 with Lid

Lids I feel are hard to find period. I've been fairly lucky to find some though. I've found two BS&R 2 qt lids, a BS&R 3 qt saucepan with a lid and a #12 Lodge Dutch oven and lid that looks like it's...

Re: Cast Iron Saucepans

I have a 2 and 3 quart BS&R saucepan that I use. I have a few enameled saucepan also. My favorite though is a Copco 2 liter saucepan. It is used more than any other saucepan. I do use the 2 quart...

Re: Wagner Waffle Iron Handles

MDFraley, thanks. I'll check some trade schools. I just didn't want to over pay by not knowing. I've done that with buying some CI pieces when I started. I think we all may have done that.

Re: Wagner Waffle Iron Handles

I wasn't asking if you could make some for me. What is the going rate in the woodworking field to have someone make them. I don't know anyone who does woodwork. I'll look at checking with people. I...

Re: Wagner Waffle Iron Handles

MDFraley, great job on making the handles. What would the general cost be to have someone made handles? I have two handles that are broken and would love to replace them and place new ones on them.

Re: Turks Head/Muffin Pan

Doug D, did Lodge make their Turk head pans with gate marks? I have a 6 Turk head with gate marks and 19 & CG on opposite handles.

I felt they were Lodge but the gate marks made me think...

Re: #8 ERIE Griddle

That griddle looks to be in pristine condition. No sulphur putting at all.

Collector status is your call. If you only have 3 pieces, I would say no if you use them.

Would using CLR have gotten rid of the lime? Is it okay to use on a piece of CI?

Re: Here's One You Don't See Everyday... Sidney Hollowware Co., #11

Beautiful pan! Possibly a once in a lifetime find in that condition. I hope to find something like that.

Re: Potential Value?

Jerry, I have two that I just recently found. They weren't very expensive. One was $20, Excelsior Foundry, and the other was less and looked very similar to yours.

Re: DO ID

My guess, it looks like a recast. The inside lid looks as if it was buttered over in between the basters. Also, on the bottom where you mentioned that it wasn't a crack, looks like a casting flaw...

Re: Anyone Help Identify Skillet?

Is it a #7 skillet? Does it have a country of origin? As DougD stated, unmarked Wagner probably.
