Unless there is new information out there last I researched most people cook bacon as the first run after manually seasoning because it is great for the pan.

I had a pan that had a odd orange tint to it after the first seasoning. I am interested to see what people say causes it.

Does lye change waters freezing point at all being that it is a derivative of sodium and salt changes it.

Lye seems to be doing the trick at least it did on a 3 leg pot that I got previously

But I would not be afraid to use paint stripper if the lye did not work. Because it will get cleaned and take...

After enough use won't the pits fill with seasoning and become flat again.

I was browsing eBay and say 2 sets of waffle irons similar to these and they were both priced close to $1,000. I don't know if that is a normal rate or not but it must signify how rare they are.
