How Much Ptting is Too Much on a User?

Have a BSR 8 with an extremely well worn heat ring, and lots of pitting on the cooking surface. Will some/most of the pits fill in over time as it used?

Want to give to a friend to try out cast...

Any harm in removing rust in 2 passes, that is, do half of the pan in one pass, turn the skillet over and de-rust the other half?

As an aside, I can see I bought the wrong containers for lye and...

When I google "japanning electrolysis", it returns hits on people restoring hand planers, and using electrolysis to remove japanning. They are dealing with much smaller surface...

Ah, looks to be a Lodge in the 1940 - 1987 series, probably in the 40s-50s.

Ty, I have some black rebar tie wire. A quick google search leads me to believe that it is annealed, although I can't identify as such - no label on spool.

Do you reckon tie wire would work with...
