You should be fine. What you see on the surface is probably or carbon by now. Easy Off won't get that off.

I have one very similar to yours but it is marked. It is made by Excelsior is St Louis. It's surface condition is rough though.

That pot issues a different type of lid.

If you are talking about Easy Off, do not let it dry out. It needs to stay wet and it works better in a very warm environment.

In a lye bath, it could stay indefinitely as long as there is fluid...

The Orange Flame one is Descoware as I have the matching pot. The Yellow one appears to also be Descoware. The size is the same as my matching set, and it fits the pot the same. The only difference...

If you have an area to do it, use a lye bath. With the cost of a couple cans of Easy Off Yellow top, you can buy a pound of lye at Ace for $4-5 and a plastic tub at Wally World for about $7 and you...

It looks very similar to a Descoware skillet lid. Le Creuset bought them and made lids like it, just slightly different.
