Re: Need help identifying this pan please.

They make decent griddles, I have one I use on the grill to make eggs and sausage when it's too hot to cook inside.

Re: scrap yard find.. Help me identify :)

Re: Help identifying possible damage

If you don't want to do the lye bath, oven cleaner and a garbage bag for a few days has worked very well for me.

Re: E-tank question?

I'm on well water, and I have experienced something similar to what you describe, but not to the same degree. I use a furniture refinishing pad to scour the pans after the electrolysis tank, and that...

Re: No Name Bean Pot & Chicken Fryer - Possible BSR?

Wow, yep that looks like the one! I don't see any mention of a regular lid in the patent description, interesting. Did Mr. Blankenship work for a foundry or pattern maker? I can't find much info on...

No Name Bean Pot & Chicken Fryer - Possible BSR?

I picked up a few interesting finds recently, and this pair have me stumped. I am leaning toward BSR, but I have not seen examples with this heavy lip detail before. I believe this would be called...

Re: Seasoning with bacon fat?

In my experience, seasoning with crisco smokes less than with bacon fat. Since I season my pans inside vs on a grill, this makes it easier to tolerate for those who prefer the house not to get all...
