Re: Why I Love Wapaks....

I like my single notch Lodge skillets because, like many, it was the first thing I acquired. Then while researching what I had, people seemed to give them no respect.
It didn't take long to realize...

Re: Another #14

This is what it looks like after cleaning it up. https://imgur.com/a/xtOd9NZ The bottom came out good but the cooking surface has some pitting. My wife likes the CHF diamond skillets
and has the...

Another #14

I picked up this skillet from a online auction. The pictures were not very good and from what I could see, everything looked like a crack.:icon_scratchchin:
My brain said let it go, as it wasn't...

Re: 3 Notch Martin Hamburger Logo, with Original Label...

Tough call, but I would leave it alone. Without the label it's just another Martin. Cool piece!

Re: Got Lucky This Morning

This is how it turned out after the e-tank and three rounds of Crisco. The pan has obvious issues, but the lid came out quite nice.

Re: Got Lucky This Morning

Some follow up...... after getting a better look at things, the skillet is a spinner. Not bad, but noticeable. After some etank modifications the cover seems to be cleaning up pretty well but time...

Got Lucky This Morning

I was searching Facebook marketplace early this morning and saw a post that had only been up up for 16 minutes. They were asking $30 for a "rusty old pan with a lid". This is what I just got home...

Re: Griswold #7 Slant Logo

I have the #5,8 and 9 so far, and would have gladly paid the $40 for the #7. Not too sure I would have given up that ultra rare Ming dynasty beer tray though.:-D

Re: Chef Skillet BSR?

This one has been a dedicated egg pan. Nothing put bacon grease, butter and grade A extra larges. The cooking surface is mighty slick. https://imgur.com/a/EnFUQcj

Re: Chef Skillet BSR?

I love using my BS&R chef skillet. Even though it doesn't have a lot of value, it would take quite a bit for me to part with it. I wish they had made one just a little bit bigger as well.

Need Help Identifying a Piece

I picked up about 25 pieces of iron at a auction the other day and two of them were fat free fryers. The one that I need help identifying is in the first two photos. The only markings on it are Pat....

Re: Some Odd Raised Size Pans I Just Cleaned Up

Much smaller. It is almost identical in diameter to a number 4 Lodge that I have. Like I mentioned, it is a very heavy and rough casting. Yours looks much nicer in quality.

Re: Some Odd Raised Size Pans I Just Cleaned Up

I have always liked the boldness of raised numbers/letters. When I saw your #8, the extra makings looked familiar. They look a like the ones on a very poorly made #5 that I have....
