Re: Induction Cooktop and Cast Iron

My daughter (and mostly my son-in-law) regularly use their #8 Smiley, #6 LBL and a large Le Cruset DO on their induction cooktop. They have had the Smiley for 2 years, the #6 for a year or so and...

Re: Egg Poachers/Apple Cake Pans

I've been looking a Aebleskiver pans on eBay. Most of them are one of the Griswold 962s.

There is/was one type that I cannot identify. Think it might be a circa 1980 or so Lodge. Don't think...

Re: Egg Poachers/Apple Cake Pans

I am trying to understand the markings on p/n 962 (page 116 in the BB).

Consider the 962 to be at 6 o'clock.

There is a pan with "G M Co" on the 3 horizontal "balls" going from 9 o'clock to 3...

Re: Erie 7

Matt,

It might be a pattern-maker's mark. They were found on some 2nd and 3rd series Erie skillets. Can't tell from the partial picture of the bottom. The star should be about 50% from the...

Re: Griswald Ice Shave

L,

It is on pg. 189 in the BB. Circa 1900-1920's. At the time of the BB, $100-$200.

In my short time, I have not seen one. My expectation is Griswold did not make them in the quantities of...

Restored Griswold 151N Waffle Iron

Here are the finished paddles and base. If I can figure out how to remove the coil handles, I may try to work on them further, given the nice job D Madden did on his iron.

Re: Toy? Ash Tray

Doug,

Thanks for the spoon rest Idea. I didn't want to just let it sit around. Now I have a reason to keep it near the stove.

Toy? Ash Tray

Came across this recently. Couldn't pass it up. Probably won't see much use as an ash tray.

Re: Cleaning/seasoning These Waffle Iron Paddles

MD,

Thanks. It is a help. Also going to see whether I can find pipe cleaners to get into some of the small spaces.

Re: Help Identify

Can't tell from the pics.

Are there any makings, e.g. numbers/letters around 6 o'clock on the bottom of the skillet? Does the bottom of the handle have the BSR "rib"?

I use an electrolysis tank, so my experience with vinegar and water is limited. If you haven't done so, suggest reviewing what Doug has provided.

Cleaning/seasoning These Waffle Iron Paddles

Picked up this waffle iron over the weekend. It has a high base. I'm still trying to remove the Japan blacking (think that is what it is called).

Anyone have a process for getting inside and...

Re: Fish Fryer or Double Gate Burner

FYI. Think this might be one of those with the pour spout in the corner mentioned by Doug.

Small ERiE Bowl

Cleaning this for a friend.

Is this a toy scotch bowl? I put the cork pull next to it so you can get a perspective on the size.

Re: Identify 7Y Skillet

Also, Red Mountain will have larger pour spouts and the numbers/letters are not as "neatly" produced. For more, see this:

Really nice looking pan. A conversation piece even if you don't use it on a particular day/night.
