I do not like to Self Clean a Oven.
Seems like they always have a problem after cleaning.
Lots of articles on why never to Self Clean a Oven just before Thanksgiving.

I have a local guy for Lye...

Flea Market Florida Finds

I did pick up 2 other pans at the Wagon Wheel Flea Market.

The #7 Griswold is very nice and very flat.

The #3 is a BSR, I assume.
Nice shape for $5 and I like the Radius on the inside bottom....

I picked it up for my Nephew, he has a Breakfast/Lunch Diner.

He wanted something large to cook Peppers in.

I picked it up for $20 which surprised me :-)

I figured that it was a Factory Finish because of the circular pattern.

On Vacation in Florida and always go to the Wagon Wheel Flea Market.
Picked up 3 pans one is a #12 Lodge 3 Notch
Looks to be in very good shape, very flat.

The surface on the bottom and inside...

The Blue 55 Gallon and 30 Gallon drums are HDPE and are one of the best to use for Lye.

I would scrape what you can while wearing gloves and safety glass's
Then put it back in the Lye.

I try to get as much off with the Lye so when I go to the Electrolysis it keeps the solution...

The Pool Test Strips go from 6.4 to 8.4 PH readings.

Check a Spa Test Strip may be a different PH value.

Look on You Tube they will have many different setups.
A 5 gallon bucket will work on all most all of the pans up to a #8 or #9.

The only thing I would like to add is if you are moving your Lye tank inside for the Winter is to use a container that is rated HDPE.

I was very lucky to be able to pick up my Lye from...
